It was just recently that I have decided to change my theme from the organic shapes and move to geometric patterns.  Through this theme I will use mostly straight lines but occasionally will add several curved ones.  Throughout this semester i plan to have all my pieces be very dramatic through eiter value or complementary colors.  By doing so all of my pieces will have the sense of depth, overlaping as well as a strong sense of

My theme for this semester is inspired by Mondrian and his use of contemporary geometric shapes.  I have choosen to keep my art this semester focused on this style simply because this style of art is nothing like I have ever done before and I also like the idea of creating depth, space and movement through few, simple clean cut lines.
I have alrready begun work on m first two pieces.  The first painting is going to be simple rectangular lines and I will use complementary colors ( blue, and orange) to create a sense of depth and perspective. I plan to also use a whitewash color in a pale yellow.  I choose this color because the yellow is related to the orange and I feel is will add a little more contrast and depth.

My second painting consists of triangular arrows from te bottoom right hand corner and ill branch out across the canvas.  The colos being used in this piece are various shades of blues, purples and some green will be applied toward the upper left hand corner. To create contrast throughout this piece I will have the arrows be at various withs that grow as they reach the opposite corner.
