Today I begn my final draft for this charchol drawing I have called "Walking Away".  This was my first time ever working with charcol.  I have found that charcol has a much more smooth and soft texture that allowed my to make long, smooth lines with one stroke and ease.  So far I have just the rough sketch outline and by monday I hope to beging adding some shadow and and shade the background with value.

This new perspective pose shows only my feet/ shoes and the back of my legs.  This is my first rough sketch of this new pose. I feel this is quite a good pose to choose for this project because it shoes my left shoe as being really close up and my right leg as being shorter and smaller.  I choose this pose because of the fact it wasnt a whole body shot and its an unsusual perspective.  I found this first sketch to be not too difficult to capture. I feel my proportions and stature to be well represented.

This is one of my first earltt attempts to draw myself in an abstracted off angle.  I feel that this rough draft is a poor representation of the actual photo.  The angles are all off as well as the proportionas are totally askew.  My head is too large for the rest of my body, it is as big as my hip. When in reality for this assignment, my face needs to be barel visible and quite miniscure. Also the my shoe is something i will really need to work on, it just doesnt appear right to the eye.  Overall, I believe this to be a decent primary attempt.  Also when I was drawing this i tried a new drawing technique for the first time.  I was standing up and looking at my picture upsidedown.  This was something I had never personally tried before but I fell it helped to teach me the importance of making long pencil marks with your arm, and not short stubby, scratchy marks with my wrist.

This drawing was the first application of all the little skills being applied to draw a room in two point perspective.  In this drawing there is an introverted corner, a door, whiteboard, and cabinets over the sinks and counter with more fileing cabinets below.  This drawing took about one week  to finish.  It was very slow going and i wanted to be very precise with my measurements to make sure every object seen was in its proper proportion and also that each line was parallel and matched up to both my vanishing points.

This was my very first attempt at drawing in two point perspective.  It took me a while to perfect my skills and i found myself constantly haveing to remind myself that i needed to match uo each line to my two vanishingpoints.  To draw this one simple sqyare in this foreign perspective took me a good twenty minuts to complete.  I would either not match up my lines correctly or something just wouldnt look right and precise.

Thinking:
The theme for this assignment is to convey/ express a certain emotion through a self portrait of ourselfs.  Can not be a straight, head on profile.  Must be turned to the side/ looking away etc. to add some interest and wonder as to what we're trying to convey.

Ideas:
Head slightly tilted off to one side, with eyes looking to one side.  Emotion- sadness/ mystery.

How?:
Paint colors: various shades of blue for portrait and then super contrasting color in the background to add interest and severre contrast.  Paint lines are to be very choppy and define shadows and highlights very clearly
